Quentin Blake Europe School, Berlin
In a special ceremony in March 2002, the Quentin Blake Europe School held its official naming ceremony, with guest-of-honour Quentin Blake.  The school is  part of the Europe School system in Berlin. In these schools, half of the students and teachers are native speakers of a European language—in this case English and the school name was chosen as the result of a student vote. Quentin Blake Europe School's naming day tribute to their namesake

Berlin, 24th October 2007

Dear Quentin Blake

We thought of you a lot today!

Hope you haven’t forgotten that it’s naming Day!

So we thought about some rhymes for you,

They’re strange and funny and even true.

You drew a book about a CLOWN,

It was soooooo good that I couldn’t put it down!

My favourite book is ZAGAZOO,

But still of course I like YOU too!

And then there’s the book called THE GREEN SHIP

And reading it was a clever tip!!!

In FANTASTIC DAISY ARTICHOKE,

The pig hated being stroked!

The beautiful book called HERON AND THE CRANE,

Is about two creatures who don’t look the same!

The CHOCOLATE FACTORY

Is the best book we’ll ever see!

Your book the GREEN SHIP

Was perfect for my holiday trip!

And the book called ALL JOIN IN,

Is just made to win!

With very best wishes
